Collection: Performance Supplements for Endurance Athletes
Performance supplements for runners, cyclists and triathletes. Choose by the training demand: race preparation, a hard effort, long-duration work, repeat training or strength and sprint work. Fuel, fluids and electrolytes remain the base plan.
| Need | Choose |
|---|---|
| Key race in four days | Race Day Boost |
| Intervals, climbs or a late-race surge | Energy Surge |
| Long training or racing | Anti-Fatigue Caps |
| Long sessions and repeat training days | Endurance Amino |
| Strength, sprints and repeated hard efforts | Creatine Boost |
Race Day Boost — sodium phosphate
- Protocol: 500 mg sodium phosphate per capsule; 4 capsules, 4 times daily for 4 days (8 g/day).
- What it does: phosphate loading raises red-blood-cell 2,3-DPG, helping oxygen release from haemoglobin to working tissue.
- What studies found: in trained cyclists, six days of loading produced 9.8% higher mean power and a 3.0% faster 16.1 km laboratory time trial. In trained runners, phosphate loading raised VO₂max and reduced post-exercise lactate.
- Use it for: a planned A-race, time trial, hard climbing event or race simulation.
Energy Surge — PEAK ATP®
- Formula: 100 mg PEAK ATP® per four-tablet serving; sublingual tablets; take 5–30 minutes before training or during exercise.
- What it does: ATP supplies immediate energy for muscular contraction, making it relevant when repeated power output matters.
- What ATP studies found: after two weeks of oral ATP, repeated-sprint research found 18.3% and 16.3% higher late-bout peak power, plus maintained muscle excitability versus placebo.
- Use it for: intervals, decisive climbs, repeated surges and late-race efforts.
Anti-Fatigue Caps — ornithine alpha-ketoglutarate
- Formula: potassium and magnesium aspartate with ornithine alpha-ketoglutarate (OKG).
- What it does: ornithine supports the urea cycle, the pathway that processes ammonia generated during hard, prolonged work.
- What ornithine research found: in a two-hour cycle study, supplementation reduced post-exercise fatigue scores; female participants also showed a smaller decline in late-test pedalling speed.
- Use it for: long rides, long runs and race simulations; take 2–4 capsules before, then 1–2 per hour as labelled.
Endurance Amino — BCAAs
- Formula: 800 mg leucine, 400 mg isoleucine and 400 mg valine per four-capsule serving, plus alanine and reduced glutathione.
- What it does: BCAAs supply amino acids used by muscle around long training sessions.
- What research found: a 25-study meta-analysis found lower muscle-damage markers 48 hours after strenuous exercise and lower reported soreness at 24 and 48 hours.
- Use it for: before, during or after longer sessions; label guidance is 1–2 capsules per hour for sessions over two hours.
Creatine Boost — Creapure® creatine monohydrate
- Formula: 5 g Creapure® creatine monohydrate per serving; take one serving daily.
- What it does: increases muscle phosphocreatine, helping rapid ATP regeneration when intensity rises.
- What research found: an endurance and mixed-sport review identified the strongest results in repeated sprints, high-intensity power output and power-endurance tasks.
- Use it for: gym work, sprint training, hill repetitions and repeated high-intensity efforts within an endurance programme.
