INGREDIENT BREAKDOWN
2.0 = TAPIOCA Maltodextrin – Less processed, NON-GMO, lower mono and disaccharide content/much higher percentage of polysaccharide content (courtesy of its lower Dextrose Equivalent), less sodium content, and even closer to the desired neutral pH.
Whey Protein Isolate – The most bioavailable of all protein sources and the superior source of amino acids for muscle tissue repair and immune system support. Whey protein isolate also provides potent anti-inflammatory benefits.
L-Glutamine – The most abundant amino acid in the muscles, L-glutamine plays a significant role in the glycogen synthesis process, and helps repair and rebuild muscle tissue. It has also been shown to help raise bodily levels of glutathione, the most important antioxidant for immune system health. Glutamine also contributes to growth hormone release and digestive health.
Chromium Chelate – This trace mineral helps regulate blood sugar and plays a vital role in the synthesis of glucose, fatty acids, and amino acids. During recovery, chromium facilitates carbohydrate storage (glycogen synthesis).
L-Carnosine – One of the most versatile and beneficial nutrients available. It buffers lactic acid during exercise and offers antioxidant support.
Full-spectrum electrolyte profile – The complete profile of sodium, chloride, calcium, magnesium, and potassium helps replenish depleted mineral stores.
Manganese – This trace mineral plays an important role in the production of superoxide dismutase (SOD), a powerful antioxidant.
Glycine – This amino acid is beneficial for aiding with muscle tissue repair, protecting collagen in joints, and reducing joint pain. Additionally, glycine has a naturally sweet taste, contributing to Recoverite’s delicious flavor.
Xylitol – This natural sweetener, found in a variety of fibrous fruits and vegetables, promotes oral health, as it does not ferment and support the acid-producing bacteria that cause tooth decay. NOTE: It is believed that xylitol is unsafe for consumption by dogs; therefore, we do not recommend you feed your dog any xylitol-containing products, including HEED or Recoverite.
Stevia – This is the extract (steviosides) from the leaves of Stevia rebaudiana, a plant native to subtropical and tropical Central and South America. Stevia is non-caloric, and does not affect blood sugar levels. Like xylitol, stevia does not support acid-producing bacteria responsible for tooth decay.
FAQS
Why do I need a Recovery drink?
Recoverite is designed to give your body the nutritional support it needs so you get the most from your training and recover properly after every workout or race.
Training hard is important, but recovery is just as important. If you do not recover properly on a regular basis, you will not get the full benefit from the time and effort you put into training.
The improvements you make from training happen during recovery, but only if your body gets enough rest and the right nutrition. If recovery is neglected, you may miss out on the benefits of your training and increase the risk of illness or injury.
The best way to begin the recovery process is to replace high-quality carbohydrates and protein straight after exercise, ideally within the first 30 minutes, and the sooner the better. This is when your body is most ready to absorb and use these nutrients.
When you support your body immediately after exercise, it can help to:
- store more glycogen in the muscles for future energy
- strengthen the immune system
- rebuild muscle tissue more effectively
- reduce aches and soreness
How do I work out the equivalent of one scoop of Recoverite?
No scoop? No problem. Use the following measurements instead:
Recoverite 2.0
1 level scoop (50 cc) = 3 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon
Serving size = 2 scoops
Recoverite Classic
1 level scoop (60 cc) = 4 tablespoons + ½ teaspoon
Serving size = 2 scoops

Note: Amounts are shown in milligrams.
Essential Amino Acids
- Leucine – 970 mg
- Isoleucine – 600 mg

Can I mix Recoverite with warm water instead of cold water?
Yes. You can mix Recoverite or Organic Vegan Recoverite with warm water without losing any of the product’s strength or benefits.
Does Recoverite contain caffeine?
Yes, but only one flavour does.
Caffè Latte contains 25 mg of caffeine per serving.
Can I add an extra scoop of Whey protein to Recoverite?
Yes, you can add half a scoop to one full scoop of Whey Protein to Recoverite if you want to.
However, it is generally not necessary. A two-scoop serving of Recoverite already provides 10 grams of protein and 3 grams of glutamine, which is enough to help start the recovery process.
Most people will also eat a meal containing protein within the next hour or two, so adding extra protein is optional rather than essential.
Tip: Having a serving of Whey Protein mixed only with water before bed may also help support recovery.
Are your products tested for heavy metals?
Yes. Hammer Nutrition products are tested for heavy metals and meet, or go beyond, established safety standards.
The manufacturer requires all raw material suppliers to provide an independent laboratory analysis certificate with every shipment. This testing must confirm that the raw materials meet FDA standards for:
- microbial content
- heavy metals
- solvents
- pesticides
In short, Hammer Nutrition states that its supplements are tested for heavy metals and that all raw materials meet or exceed FDA standards.
Why does Recoverite contain Maltodextrin?
Maltodextrin is included because it is a fast-acting carbohydrate, which makes it useful during exercise and immediately afterwards.
After exercise, your body is especially ready to replace the glycogen it has used. Two things are very active at this time:
- glycogen synthase, which helps turn carbohydrates into stored glycogen
- insulin, which helps move that glycogen into the muscle cells
Because this recovery window is short, a quickly absorbed carbohydrate source like maltodextrin can help start the refuelling process faster.
The product explanation also says that carbohydrates remain important both for fuelling exercise and for helping the body recover afterwards. After training, the carbohydrates help replace fuel stores, while protein helps with muscle repair and immune support.
The guidance given is that high-glycaemic carbohydrates such as maltodextrin are best used during exercise or straight after it.
Does the Whey protein Isolate in Recoverite contain lactose?
Recoverite uses the same whey protein isolate as Hammer Nutrition’s Whey Protein product.
It is not completely lactose-free, but it is approximately 98% lactose-free. Because the amount of lactose left is very small, people with lactose intolerance can usually use it without any problems.
However, it is not recommended for people with a dairy allergy.
How do I work out the equivalent of one scoop of Recoverite?
No scoop? No problem.
Recoverite 2.0
1 level scoop (50 cc) = 3 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon
Serving size = 2 scoops
Recoverite Classic
1 level scoop (60 cc) = 4 tablespoons + ½ teaspoon
Serving size = 2 scoops
Is there any egg in Recoverite?
No. Recoverite does not contain egg, none of its ingredients come from egg, and there is no risk of cross-contamination with egg or egg products.
Does Recoverite contain soy?
No. Neither Recoverite nor Organic Vegan Recoverite contains soy or soy protein.
How can I stop my fuel bottles from clumping when I mix them?
To help prevent clumping:
1. Start by filling about one third of the bottle with water.
2. Add the powder to the water.
3. Put the lid on and shake well.
4. Add a bit more water and shake again.
5. Keep repeating this until the bottle is full.
Adding water to dry powder can cause clumping, so it works much better to add the powder to water instead.
This is especially important when making a multi-hour fuel bottle. Build it gradually rather than adding everything at once.
Is it better to take Recoverite after a workout or before bed for the best results?
Recoverite is best taken immediately after exercise.
That is when insulin and glycogen synthase are at their most active, which makes it the best time for the body to:
- replace fuel in the muscle cells
- begin muscle repair and rebuilding
- support the immune system
Recoverite contains carbohydrates, whey protein isolate, and glutamine, all of which are useful straight after training.
Before bed, the carbohydrates are not as necessary. At that time, Whey Protein is considered the better option, because the protein and glutamine can continue supporting repair and recovery while you sleep.
