Most sports drinks are all the same: sugar, salt, and acid.
HEED is a non-acidic, lightly flavoured endurance drink built for steady energy, not sugar spikes. It delivers complex carbohydrates, a full electrolyte profile and essential nutrients to help stabilise blood sugar, buffer lactic acid and keep you moving longer.
HEED 2.0 — BETTER FUEL, FUEL SMARTER:
Now made with tapioca-derived maltodextrin from cassava — a cleaner, superior energy source that’s also Paleo-friendly.Why tapioca?
- Less processing than corn
- Naturally non-GMO
- Lower sodium, higher potassium
- More alkaline to combat exercise-induced acidity
- More complex carbs for longer-lasting energy
- Same fast-acting Glycaemic Index for immediate fuel
Performance Support Ingredients:
Full-Spectrum Electrolyte Profile
Provides sodium, chloride, calcium, magnesium, and potassium to support hydration, nerve signaling, muscle function, and to help reduce the risk of cramping during exercise.
L-Carnosine
Helps buffer lactic acid during intense efforts and provides antioxidant support, contributing to improved endurance and performance.
Glycine
An amino acid that supports muscle tissue repair, joint and connective tissue health, and may help reduce joint discomfort. Glycine also has a naturally sweet taste, enhancing flavour without added sugar.
L-Tyrosine
Supports the adrenal, pituitary, and thyroid glands, which regulate key hormones involved in energy production, stress response, and recovery.
Manganese
An essential trace mineral required for muscle enzyme function and for converting carbohydrates, fats, and proteins into usable energy.
Chromemate® Chromium Polynicotinate A highly bioavailable form of chromium that helps regulate blood sugar levels and plays a role in glucose, fatty acid, and amino acid metabolism.
HOW TO USE:
Mix 1 scoop with 475–750 ml of water.
Sip steadily before and during exercise.
Pro tip:
For hot conditions or long sessions, add Endurolytes® for extra electrolyte support.
Important:
Contains xylitol. Xylitol is unsafe for dogs — do not feed to pets.
CARBOHYDRATE SOURCES EXPLAINED:
Tapioca Maltodextrin
A less-processed, NON-GMO carbohydrate with a lower Dextrose Equivalent (DE). This means a higher percentage of polysaccharides, fewer simple sugars, lower sodium content, and a pH closer to neutral — making it easier on the stomach during exercise.
Classic Formula (Corn Maltodextrin)
A high-glycemic index (GI) complex carbohydrate designed to deliver fast-acting, long-lasting energy during exercise and to efficiently replenish glycogen stores after training or competition
SWEETENERS:
Xylitol
A naturally occurring sweetener found in fibrous fruits and vegetables. Unlike sugar, it does not ferment in the mouth and therefore supports oral health by discouraging acid-producing bacteria.
Note: Xylitol is unsafe for dogs. Do not give xylitol-containing products to pet

FAQ's:
Is HEED safe for young athletes?
Yes. HEED is 100% safe for young athletes and is a far better option than most mainstream sports drinks. Unlike products loaded with refined sugars, citric acid, artificial colors, and sweeteners, HEED uses complex carbohydrates and natural sweeteners that are gentle on teeth and gums.
Can HEED be pre-mixed in advance?
Yes. HEED can be mixed up to 24–36 hours in advance if kept refrigerated. The flavor may become slightly flatter, and some minerals may settle at the bottom. Simply shake well before drinking. Can HEED be used in a hydration pack bladder?Yes. HEED mixes easily and works well in hydration pack bladders. Because it contains only carbohydrates (no protein or fat), it is less likely to clog compared to thicker fuels like Perpetuem®.
What’s the Difference Between HEED and Endurolytes® / Endurolytes® Fizz?
HEED is a fuel + hydration product.
Endurolytes® and Endurolytes® Fizz are electrolytes only.
Each scoop of HEED provides:
- 110 calories
- Roughly the same electrolyte content as 1 Endurolytes capsule or ½ an Endurolytes Fizz tablet
Endurolytes products contain no calories — they are designed solely to replace electrolytic minerals lost through sweat.
For most athletes, 1–2 scoops of HEED per hour will meet calorie needs and cover some electrolyte requirements.
Heavier athletes and those training or racing in hot conditions often need additional electrolyte support, which is where Endurolytes capsules or Endurolytes Fizz tablets come in.
In short:
- HEED = Calories + Electrolytes
- Endurolytes / Endurolytes Fizz = Electrolytes only
Are There Any Concerns with Pre-Mixing HEED?
No. HEED can be pre-mixed 24–36 hours in advance without losing potency, provided it is kept refrigerated.
You may notice:
- A slightly flatter taste
- Minor separation of electrolytes or flavour crystals
This is normal. Simply shake well before drinking and you’re good to go.
How Much HEED Do I Need Per Hour?
Example: 90 kg MTB or road cyclist
Most athletes around 90 kg perform well with:
- 1.5–1.75 scoops per hour
- That equals 165–192.5 calories per hour
This amount also provides electrolytes equivalent to:
- 1.5–2 Endurolytes capsules
In warmer conditions, most athletes in this weight range will benefit from adding:
- 2–3 extra Endurolytes capsules per hour
- Up to 4 additional capsules in very hot conditions
Calories fuel performance. Electrolytes protect it. Balance both.
What Is Taurine and Why Is It in Cherry Bomb HEED?
Taurine is an amino acid found in high concentrations in muscle and nerve tissue. It plays a key role in:
- Regulating heartbeat and muscle contractions
- Supporting proper nerve signaling
- Enhancing the body’s use of electrolytes (sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium)
For athletes, taurine offers several performance benefits:
- Helps buffer lactic acid
- Supports healthy pH levels
- Improves focus and concentration without stimulating the nervous system
- Is associated with increases in VO₂ max and time to exhaustion
Bottom line: taurine supports both physical performance and mental clarity, especially during hard or prolonged efforts.
Why Is the Flavour So Light?
That’s intentional.
When HEED was first developed, athletes consistently complained that most sports drinks were far too sweet — especially during long sessions. HEED was designed to solve that problem.
Key points:
- HEED uses maltodextrin, a complex carbohydrate that isn’t very sweet by nature
- No refined sugars
- No artificial sweeteners
Instead, HEED is lightly sweetened with small amounts of xylitol and stevia. These natural sweeteners:
- Are gentler on teeth and gums
- Are several times sweeter than sugar, so only a small amount is needed
The result is:
- 110 calories per scoop
- Clean energy
- No syrupy aftertaste
- A flavour you can actually tolerate hour after hour
